Borg Warner Aluminum Shifter Nuts are increasingly being used these days in 4-speed manual gear boxes, which are found in Ford and Valient model cars. These are extremely easy to install and the installation can be done by you with these simple instructions. Unscrew the old nylon nut from the gear box with the gear stick attached. Unclip the E clip, remove the spring, and slide off the retainer plate. The old nylon nut can now be slid off. Before doing this, ensure that the bush is in an undamaged condition. Slide the new aluminum shifter nut over the gear stick and over the bush after greasing the bush. Add the retaining spring plate. Add the spring and reinsert the E clip. Finally, place the gear shift back into the gear box and tighten the alloy nut. You have installed your hardy aluminum shifter nut.
